K.Flay takes on the Roseland Theater

Wild, passionate, and energetic doesn't even begin to describe the set from pop-rock artist K.Flay as she took to the stage at the Roseland Theater last week. Between singing, rapping, playing bass and electric guitar, and moving every inch of her body to the beat, she becomes a blur across the stage that a packed crowd can't help but be mesmerized by.

The multi-platinum, two-time Grammy-nominated artist just wrapped up a massive cross-country tour in support of grandson, with a sold-out show in Portland as one of her final dates on the run. Alternative singer-songwriter Jack Kays warmed up the crowd as bodies filled every space in the theater, and finally, the lights dimmed as K.Flay took the stage.

From rock to hip-hop to alternative, and everything in between, K.Flay is a whirlwind of angst, vulnerability, and incredible lyricism that builds her community through storytelling, one track at a time.

The set featured songs from nearly all of her releases, including hits like "Giver," "Weirdo," "Blood in the Cut," High Enough," and her latest single, "Raw Raw." Crisp guitars, distorted bass, and pounding drums echoed through the room, perfectly in sync with her striking vocals. She later joined grandson on stage for a duet of their tracks "Zen" and "Peaches."

Despite recently becoming fully deaf in one ear, she commanded the stage, nailing every song and treating the enamored crowd to one of the most lively performances I've seen.
