Adam Melchor's Lullaby Hotline rings through Portland

The small floor of Portland's Doug Fir Lounge quickly filled in as singer-songwriter Adam Melchor took the stage. The indie-pop artist hailing from New Jersey captivated the crowd from the first note with his calming, yet powerful vocals and story times between songs. Melchor's music was the perfect fit for the cozy intimacy of the venue; his ethereal ballads intertwined with slightly more upbeat tracks to create a set list that captured his unique sound.

Earlier this year, Melchor released his album Melchor Lullaby Hotline Vol. 1, brimming with all the feels you could ask for in the perfect rainy day album. The album was in part inspired by

his Lullaby Hotline, started right before the COVID pandemic, where fans could text his hotline and hear a new live recording of a song every week. While that fan interaction was perfect during pandemic times, it was clear that connection runs just as deep in front of a crowd.
